Join a panel of Splunk documentarians as they present four lightning talks based on their book, The Product is Docs. The presenters will discuss the background of the book and highlight key points from the chapters on Working with User Experience and Design, Customer Feedback and Community, and Technical Editing. The final lightning talk will describe the XP-inspired writing process for the chapter on Writing SaaS Documentation.

Christopher Gales is the Senior Director of Documentation for Splunk. He has over 20 years of experience growing and managing globally distributed information-development teams that produce content for end-user, enterprise, and developer audiences. He has presented on strategy, metrics, career development, and community engagement. He has also served on the Center for Information-Development Management Advisory Council since 2014. With other members of the Splunk documentation team, he is the author of The Product is Docs: Writing technical documentation in a product development group.

Prior to joining Splunk, she developed documentation for various companies in the San Francisco Bay Area, primarily as an Agile technical writer in SaaS environments. Previous employers include Autodesk, Dolby Laboratories, Gracenote, Inkling, Optimizely, PeopleSoft, Perforce, and Pivotal Cloud Foundry.
