John originally hoped to have an academic career, but when funding ran out after he completed his Masters degree in Arthurian literature, he decided to try his luck elsewhere.
Now, he is a technical communication consultant with over 20 years of experience, skilled in user help, content design and strategy, and style guidance. Early in his career he worked in the cyber security sector, before returning to the field in 2018. Since then he has worked alongside hackers and other security specialists to produce user-centred content for public and private sector organisations.
When he’s not working he can be found reading, shooting with a bow or a camera, or helping to run live-action roleplaying events. He is also learning to play the harp.
